Kurzbeschreibung

There is a vivid debate among development practitioners, policy-makers and cademics about the advantages and disadvantages of political conditionalities in contexts of development cooperation and other forms of policy dialogue and interventions in a globalized world. Often, such conditionalities are seen as a means to achieve “good governance”.
Nevertheless their critics, among them proponents of post-development thought, rather problematize them as neo-imperial forms of power. The panel discussion will engage with these opposing views and shed some light on the ideas, experiences and challenges of ODA conditionalites from the perspective of development practitioners and policymakers.
