Kurzbeschreibung

Die Konferenz wird die Verfasstheit aktueller gesellschaftlicher Konflikte als rechtlich normierte (in hegemonial männlich-heteronormativer sowie bürgerlich-rechtlicher Rechtstradition) und zugleich vergeschlechtlichte Kollektivierungsprozesse in drei Panels
diskutieren:

• Strategien, Dynamiken und Prozessen der Kollektivierung
• ermöglichende und begrenzende Wirkungen von Recht
• Subjektivierungspraktiken an der Schnittstelle von Recht, Geschlecht und Kollektivität

Im Vorfeld der Tagung bietet die Forschungsgruppe einen Workshop für Doktorand:innen an. In diesem Rahmen haben Nachwuchswissenschaftler:innen die Möglichkeit, Promotionsprojekte hinsichtlich methodologischer und forschungspraktischer Fragen interdisziplinär zu diskutieren.

In the beginning of this june, the DFG-funded research group “Law – Gender – Collectivity. Processes of standardization, categorization and generating solidarity” is inviting you to an interdisciplinary conference. Against the backdrop of law playing a pivotal role in current political conflicts of belonging and participation the conference will focus on the relationship between law, gender, and collectivity. Three panels will discuss questions of the efficacy of gendered collectivity in a hegemonic male-oriented and hetero-normative tradition of civil law as well as how current social conflicts manifest themselves from the perspective based on deeper insights into legally standardized and, at the same time, gendered collectivization processes.

Prior to the conference, the DFG research group “Law – Gender – Collectivity” is offering a workshop for PhD students. This half-day workshop gives early career researchers the opportunity to put their current research projects forward for discussion. Here, we aim to place collectivity as a dimension of analysis at the center of the discussion and, taking into account different disciplinary approaches, critically examine it together.
