COVID-19

 

Information for Travelers (June 2022)

Proof of vaccination is still required (but not an additional PCR test).

Entry from any other Country (except for China due to mutual entry restrictions) for any purpose (including visits and tourism) is only possible for fully vaccinated people. The vaccination must have taken place with one or different of the following vaccines:

  • Vaccines approved by the European Union
  • In countries outside the EU: equivalent vaccines, or
  • Vaccines approved by the WHO and that are specified in the Federal Ministry of Health’s Ordinance on Coronavirus Entry Regulations. Currently These are:
    • COVAXIN®, Covid-19 vaccine (Whole Virion Inactivated Corona Virus vaccine) von Bharat Biotech International Ltd.,
    • Covilo/BBIBP-CorV, Inactivated COVID-19 Vaccine (Vero Cell) von Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd. (BIBP) / Sinopharm Group Co. Ltd.,
    • CONVIDECIA, COVID-19 vaccine (Ad5.CoV2-S [Recombinant]) von CanSino Biologics Inc. and
    • CoronaVac, COVID-19 Vaccine (Vero Cell), Inactivated von Sinovac Life Sciences Co. Ltd.)

Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 must be provided in German, English, French, Italian or Spanish in digital or paper form (e.g. EU Digital COVID certificate; WHO vaccination booklet). Note that a photo of a proof in paper form is not sufficient.
The vaccination must have taken place with one or different vaccines approved by the European Union with at least two doses. This applies until 31 September 2022. From 1 October as a rule three doses of vaccine will be required.

The proof of vaccination must contain the following:
- personal data of the person vaccinated (at least surname, first name(s) and birth date or number of passport / ID
- date and number of vaccinations
- name of the vaccine used.,
- name of the illness against which the person was vaccinated.
- characteristics that allow to identify the person of institution that was responsible for the vaccination or the issuance of the certificate, such as an official seal, symbol or name.
- where necessary: details on booster vaccinations and the corresponding date.

Regulations at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (June 2022)

From 4 June 2022, the internal COVID-19 regulations were lifted at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Visitors, staff and students do not have to wear a mask in HU buildings. It is however recommended to do so if a minimum distance of 1.5 m cannot be maintained or if persons stay together in a room for a longer period. We therefore ask that you wear a mask while indoors for the duration of the conference. 

The university has a test center, located in the building at Dorotheenstraße 24, 10117 Berlin. There you can obtain a free lateral flow test (called ‘Kostenloser Bürgertest’ on the link below). It is best to register and make an appointment online before visiting:
