Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - Gender as a Category of Knowledge

Dr. Karolina Krasuska

PhD Project:

Trans/locations: Gender and Poetics in Poems by Anglo-American, Polish, and German Writers of the Modern Period

Krasuska

Description of the Project

In her dissertation, Krasuska attempts a comparative interpretation of works that were deemed transgressive in their various regional/national (feminist) contexts. Reading them across their local positionings leads to exposing specific constructions of the category of gender in each modernist literary canon. Methodologically speaking, with respect to then still young Central European Gender Studies, the project was to reveal the consequences of such a confrontation for comparative literature and gender studies themselves.
